The project EUROPE4DEVELOPMENT is focused on development, understanding of developing countries, their place in the global socio-economic situation and the possibilities how to assist them to improve their situation by hel of Europe. It tries to find the path to understanding how Europe, Europeans, young people from European countries can support developing countries. Europe can take part in changing the world and in reality we are changing it every day. People influence system and system influences people. We are influenced by events, which are taking place on the other side of our planet and we do the same – by our actions influencing people on the other side of the planet.

Goals:

The goal of this project is to lead and motivate students to understand differences and common attributes of living in the 21 century and the need of help strong countries in the heart of Europe to the developing countries and to build the vision of the better life for all in the future. Its other aim is to understand the necessity of relation between developed and developing countries and thus support in students importance of understanding and compassion with people who are in need. The project tries to prepare students to become ready for help, to become responsible for the better future and widen their horizons about the issues connected with 2015 - European Year of Development.

Plan:

November - introduction – countries, towns, schools, students : November – June- the partner schools work on the project. They discuss different issues of the project and discuss these topics: Different types of help of developed countries to developing ones, functions of help and support to developing countries, ... Students of involved schools in the project will make films, surveys and discussions about development help with MEPS from Slovakia and Romania and discuss the issues connected with 2015 - European Year of Development. They will also have videoconferences about the EYD, will have debate on importance of help to developing countries and much more… We will cooperate with politicians (write letters to polititians of G8 countries) in order to support developing countries. At the end of the project we will meet public talking to them about issues of the help of developed Europian countries to developing countries. Evaluation of the project is a firm part of our project, it will show how successful the project had been.

Expected results:

Better understanding of support of developed countries to developing countries, motivation of students and widening their horizons about this topic by going through different issues connected with it, thus making progress in mutual understanding of the vision of the development in present and future. Creating the blog, webpage of the project and presenting the project wider public: schoolmates, parents, people in the home town, other schools,...local newspapers and press.
